moving right along

by Shelly

Sometimes working on a design project really does feel like giving birth to a baby.  You plan like crazy before anything happens, and then little by little progress happens and the room begins to take shape.  I have had SUCH a fun time working with my close friend on her new guest room/ hubby office addition the last few months.  New builds are never easy.  Especially when you are living in the home during the construction AND I might add with a brand spanking new baby!  My buddy is a brave, patient lady for sure!  Here are some pics of the project along the way.

The walls go up and the floor goes down. The room is still just taking shape.

The stairway leading to the downstairs and the main part of the house.

And here the room is with walls up and painted a nice gray, windows in awaiting window treatments, beadboard built ins being put in and will be painted a glossy white and recessed lighting and ceiling fan up.  SO exciting!

The stairs will be getting a fun, colorful striped rug….

Like this!

And to give you a bit of an idea of what the room will look like when it is all finished, here is the look board for the room.

The finished reveal will be very soon! Stay tuned!

I love it. Of course, I’m eyeing the details like the trim on the windows and I’m interested to see what the flooring looks like! Great job!

Thx Jessie! I forgot to take a pic before the paper went down for painting. The floor is a pretty white washed oak. VERY beachy and airy looking!
